At the end of April, two students each from the School for Science and Math at Vanderbilt, and the Hillsboro and Stratford Interdisciplinary Science and Research Programs took part in the 2nd USA Science and Engineering Festival Expo, in Washington D.C. The students spent three days at the Expo running a hands on exhibit about the accumulation of pollution in the Pacific Ocean and how it is effecting the ecosystem. They were one of 3000 hands on activities, and over 150000 people attended the Expo over the three days! Students also managed to fins the time to visits many of the Smithsonian museums, the International Spy Museum, and various sites such as the White House, Washington Monument, the Vietnam War Memorial, and the Lincoln Memorial.
