Interdisciplinary Science Students Meet Local Meteorologist

On November 9 and 10, Nashville's NewsChannel 5 meteorologist, Lelan Statom, took time to visit with students in the Interdisciplinary Science I classes at Stratford STEM Magnet High School and Hillsboro High School. The ninth graders are currently studying meteorology and how weather affects everything.

Mr. Statom shared his daily routine, his path to becoming a meteorologist, and information on how weather segments on TV, radio, and online are produced. He also answered student questions on topics ranging from acid rain to global warming to the effects of technological advances on the field of meteorology.
